Midnight: 1992-December 23, 2007

Midnight was one of the sweetest cats in the world. I adopted her from the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling Massachusetts in 1992. She was found living in the wild and the people at the shelter estimated her age at approximately nine months. I don't know why I adopted her. I guess she reminded me of another cat I once had. She was very angry when I first met her but she quickly grew out of it.

In 2005 she had been losing weight. After a lot of tests and thousands of dollars she was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Feline Lymphoma. She was on Prednisone every other day and Leukeran, a Chemotherapy pill, every two weeks. She gained back some weight and appeared to be doing well. But the prognosis was not good and we were told that she could have as little as six months to live.

But she defied the odds and although she was later diagnosed as hyper-thyroid and had high blood pressure, she led a pretty normal life. Every month I had to take her to the vets for more blood work and every month the vets were amazed at her condition. One Vet called her "Remarkable!"

In December of 2007 Midnight took a turn for the worse. Her cancer had spread and her quality of life was fading. On December 23, 2007 we lost our little girl.

This site will have some great Midnight stories and pictures including the time she killed Art Garfunkle, cornered a live mouse and had no idea what to do with it, came home with a Poodle Leg, killed a gecko, bit the leg off a bug and decided that she wanted to eat corn on the cob.

So sit back, have fun, check out my main page at chrismorin.com and if you're bored, send me some email at chrisjmorin@yahoo.com!
